Australia's $4 billion quantum opportunity
CSIRO recently published a report outlining a vision to grow the quantum technology industry in Australia. CSIRO Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley, hosted an online webinar with an invited panel of experts, representing the research and industry sectors, who discussed aspects of this National Roadmap. While Australia currently boasts a significant level of expertise and previous investment in quantum research, our nation faces challenges in developing a sustainable quantum ecosystem to compete in this industry globally.
In the last Executive Board meeting, members unanimously endorsed the roadmap, noting that it aligns closely with SQA’s key purpose, and that the SQA will play a key role in supporting the development of a vibrant quantum ecosystem in Australia.
